Craziness...

So this is what the house looks like now.  I have been so incredibly busy I have not had time to write.  We have a contract on the house and closing is set for July 6. Right after that we will be leaving, so the mad scramble to get packed, make a million reservations, clear the house, and everything else has started.  So much is going on in my head all day every day; I just can't fit another thing in there and I know I will end up forgetting a couple things.

But the excitement is real.  Tom is ecstatic.  The girls are ecstatic, the boy not so much.  He's worried about the plane ride and having to adjust to a new place and a new language.  And he doesn't want to leave our home.  We went with the only airline that has a direct flight from Fort Lauderdale to Guayaquil (for the boy's benefit) and because they have a generous baggage policy.  The bad news is that they are notorious for canceling flights at the last minute and leaving folks stranded for days until they reschedule.  Any prayers you may want to offer that God works all that out in our favor and we arrive in Ecuador on time with all our cargo and luggage would certainly be appreciated.

Currently we are trying to sell 3 vehicles, sell a house full of furniture, rid ourselves of 15 years of accumulation of household goods and 'stuff', find an air freight company to take our cargo to Ecuador, make reservations for planes/hotels/car rentals/hostels, do minor repairs from the house inspection, make financial decisions/housekeeping in preparation for compliance in a foreign country, visit family and friends prior to the move, pack everything for the move, and tend to our children and their needs in preparation for this (and I'm sure other things I have forgotten).

Despite all the crazy, we are looking forward to the adventure.  It will be nice in a few months to be settled in a new house, start school again with the kids, and leave all this crazy behind.  Whew!
